Michael Rodriguez, Ed.D., aka “Dr. Rod” is a best-selling author, executive coach and leading educational expert who works on issues of equity, diversity, leadership.
Michael has been highlighted by the City University of New York’s Black Male Initiative program, where he has worked for the past 10 years, for his work developing mentoring programs, academic enhancements, and leadership curriculum's for African American and Latino males.
He’s been featured on the national podcast, The Success Chronicles with Chip Baker; the syndicated radio talk show, The Tom Pope Show; as well as radio broadcasts in the NYC area.
Michael is proud to be Jesuit educated with a Doctorate of Education from Creighton University, ranked U.S. News #1 Best College for education in the Midwest, a Master of Arts from Long Island University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of New Rochelle.
Michael comes from modest means and college became a way out. He seized that opportunity, changing the trajectory of his life. He is very passionate about helping others and dedicated his life to such, specifically to students from under-served communities, helping them use education as a tool to find success.
As a professional speaker, executive coach and mentor, he is dedicated to removing the barriers to higher education and career success for students from under-served communities, Dr. Rodriguez has spoken to thousands of students in numerous states and two countries.
In his downtime he loves to read, workout, serve at his local church and spend time with his beautiful wife, Marie.
